So far our colony is off to a good start. We have made contact with the local natives, building a good relationship where they teach us tips for farming and hunting and in return we are trading them crops and also horses.
While I cannot guarantee that the natives will go I will speak to them soon on your behalf, and hopefully they shall come. In the mean time our colony has enough food stockpiled that we can send someone to give you supplies for temporary relief.
How did you create a good relationship with the indians nearby? The ones near our colony only seem to want us out. They want to attack us and they believe we have taken there land, when we have not harmed or hurt them.
We created the good relationship that we have by being respectful and showing them that we mean no harm. We made the first move to contact them by approaching them. When we did this we were not carrying our rifles and we went with a few items to put forth as a gesture of good faith. From there we explained to them our situation and how it could be beneficial for both of us to work together as opposed to being enemies. And the most important thing was that we made it clear we had no intentions to steal from them or take their land or impose our culture upon them.
Can I ask where your Indians are located? My colony is having a rather difficult time raising crops on our dry soil and catching wildlife around us and were hoping they might be able to help. Any information you have would be greatly appreciated. Have they taught you any other skills that would be useful in your survival?
The Natives that we have made contact with live in the woods not far from our colony, which is near Newfoundland to give better reference. They are a relatively peaceful group and are willing to help the colonist start our new lives, just as long as we respect the boundaries of their land and do not impose our culture upon them. They have taught us a lot, and us them. Together we have found great ways to farm the crops they and the ones we brought. They have also given us many tips on how to hunt the land for food.
Be careful with the Indians, my colony is in full scale war and there does not seem to be an end anytime soon. Keep them on your good side and there shall be no problem.
My colony is hungry. Would you mind sending some natives to show us how to farm? We are a peaceful people.
